san miguel de allende
San Miguel de Allende is a city that enchants everyone who visits — with its rose-pink cathedral, vibrant streets, and golden light, it's pure magic and we can't think of a better place to celebrate love
travel & accomodation
flights & airports
QRO - Recommended
Querétaro International Airport
The closest airport to San Miguel, roughly 1 hour by car. Smaller and calmer than Mexico City, QRO is served by a growing number of direct routes.
Easy to navigate and quick to get out of. This is the smoothest arrival experience.
BJX
Bajío International Airport (León/Guanajuato)
Also very close and well-connected, particularly useful if you find better flight options from your city (e.g. San Jose, Oakland). It's a comparable drive to San Miguel - around 1.5 hours - another easy, stress-free airport to arrive into.
MEX
Mexico City International Airport (Benito Juárez)
The largest hub with the most international connections, especially useful for guests coming from Australia, the UK, and other long-haul origins - or anyone who wants to tack on a few days in one of our favorite cities!
Give yourself at least 24 hours in CDMX - it's a world-class city and absolutely worth it.
Stay in Condesa or Roma Norte! 3.5 hour drive to San Miguel.
what's your best option?
From the East Coast
Most guests flying from the East Coast will find the best connections through Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit or Mexico City.
Direct connections from Los Angeles to QRO and San Jose / Oakland to BJX via Volaris, VivaAerobus, and Aeromexico. MEX is also well-served.
Mexico City is your friend! MEX is the natural hub for long-haul international flights, and it's a wonderful reason to spend a day or two exploring the capital. We recommend you take the first bus or shuttle of the morning to beat the traffic.

transport & transfers
Once you land, getting to San Miguel is
straightforward. We recommend booking
transfers in advance, especially around the wedding weekend when demand is high.
Private Shuttle - BajioGo (Recommended)
The most trusted and well-reviewed shuttle company in the region, run by a local San Miguel team. They serve all three airports - QRO, BJX, and MEX - and have been doing this for over ten years. Bilingual drivers, door-to-door service, a sign with your name in arrivals. They're prompt, professional, and genuinely lovely. Book via WhatsApp or their website well in advance. We used them on our trips!
Private Car Transfer
If you're travelling in a group of 2 or more, a private car sometimes works out to be better value than individual shuttle seats. Several reliable operators run this route. Heros Transportation is well-regarded for the QRO run; or your hotel concierge can usually arrange a private car from any airport.
First Class Bus (from Mexico City)
If you're coming from Mexico City, ETN and Primera Plus run comfortable, reliable first class buses between the city's Central del Norte bus terminal and San Miguel de Allende. It's a pleasant ride - reclining seats, air conditioning, and great scenery. Again: take the earliest departure to avoid traffic crawling out of the capital.
accommodation
San Miguel is full of extraordinary places to stay. We've pulled together a range from iconic five-star properties to intimate boutiques, so there's something for every style and budget. We'd encourage you to book as early as possible; the best rooms go quickly, especially around event weekends.

We appreciate you making the trip and truly feel having you with us on our wedding day is the most meaningful gift we could ask for.
While we’re not expecting gifts, some have asked - if you do wish to contribute to our honeymoon fund, details will be coming soon.

What is the dress code?
Formal attire is requested - dresses for women and suits for men. One practical note: San Miguel's cobblestone streets are beautiful but uneven, so block heels or wedges are your best friend.
Can I bring my child?
What will the weather be like?
We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration.
April in San Miguel is about as good as weather gets. Warm, golden days around 85°F (30°C), crisp and starlit evenings around 52°F (11°C), and blue skies with barely a cloud in sight. Pack a light wrap for the evening and your sunglasses for everything else. The wedding will be outdoors.
Can I bring a plus one?
Our guest list is lovingly but firmly set! Official invitations will be on their way later this year, and plus ones will be named on the invite itself. If they're not listed, we unfortunately aren't able to accommodate them.
Is Uber available?
Uber works at all the airports, in San Miguel and in Mexico City. It is a reasonable option if you're travelling solo and light.
Can I eat the street food?
How do I pronounce San Miguel de Allende?
Yes, and you absolutely should - Mexican street food is one of life's great pleasures. The city is well-established as a tourist destination and food hygiene standards are generally very good. The usual common-sense rules apply: look for busy stalls with high turnover, stick to freshly cooked food, and avoid anything that's been sitting out. We recommend Andy’s Taco Cart! Do NOT drink the tap water, however.
sahn mee-GEHL deh ah-YEHN-deh :)
Do I need a car in San Miguel?
Almost certainly not. The historic centro is wonderfully walkable - most of what you'll want to do, eat, and see is within a 15-minute stroll. Street parking is extremely limited and the cobblestone streets are best navigated on foot.

Despite a few gaffes of various varieties over the years: losing important things, innumerable snoozes upon wake-up, and sophomoric jokes, I’ve enjoyed every part of this journey, and trust Jack to no end. I feel unconditionally comfortable, delighted, and happy in his company. So… against all odds: 5 stars.

Always a good time. Yes man for the ages. Supportive. Loyal. Kind. Keeps an apartment tidy. Overall, reliably great on the important things in life, who cares if there are some shirts on the ground… 5 stars

5 stars. No notes. Just kidding ~ if there is any rule book of life I’d like to read, it would be hers. Georgina, GLO, geeger$ ~ the pleasure of her friendship is rooted in kismet. You’ll meet her in the wild ~ a baby shower, a gym class, a shared wall in quarantine. She is a friend to all, and to all a friend. She will make your morning with a hard workout, a great walk, and a nice sweet. We’re here or there, Georgia Lord will always be near and everywhere.

Would recommend. Always down for shenanigans. Phobia of public bathrooms

The extrovert to my introvert. Without her I'd have no social life, no plans, and frankly no fun. She'll ask for your advice, consider it deeply, and then do exactly what she was going to do anyway. Deducting one point for Jack stealing my birthday. Adding half back — he follows the rules, which is more than I can say for her. Would still recommend. 4.5 stars.

Met this wonderful human in a random hostel in Thailand: which tells you everything you need to know about her. Pros: Loves her people so so much. Elite travel companion, will accidentally stay out till 2am. Cons: Sets the bar too high, other travel buddies now feel under-qualified. Encourages quick trips that somehow turn into full-blown adventures; “Jack let’s just extend the trip again!” If found in a hostel, highly recommend keeping her around!

Wonderful friend who keeps portfolios (and people) on track with care, patience and thoughtfulness. Secondary skill set involves beach volleyball, which varies based on sun, snacks and hot chocolate levels.

Always shows up for her pals, loyal and never turns down an adventure. “.5” added for carrying Atlas around Paris and for expanding pallette past plain chicken. Points deducted for: never finishing a meal (come on it’s one more mouthful!), the spike in expenditure every time we’re together and living on the other side of the world.

Jack is the perfect travel companion for your friends and family; he is kind, fun and down for anything! Be warned, due to his height he will not fit in all rooms or beds and will complain about leg room.

Met as roommates during our young years. She somehow kept it together while I crawled across the floor during her work calls, discovered moonshine at 2pm, and helped myself to Jack's wardrobe — which, for the record, does not fit well. Rooftop hangs, Ceremonia runs, Sculpt classes — my "mum" and "dad". Only deducting a star because she won't come to a rave. 4 stars.

Tall, can grow a moustache, and always great company :) most of all, has access to sailboats. Could be taller, 4/5 stars.

Jack instantly makes any night better, partly because of his personality, and partly because you can spot him from three bars away. The guy is absurdly tall; hanging out with him is like having a human lighthouse in the friend group. He is always down for a good time, always ready for a beer and somehow keeps the vibes high, no matter what. Loyal, hilarious, dependable, and an elite drinking buddy who somehow turns 'one more drink' into three more hours. Overall: certified skyscraper, great heart, elite hang, great friend. 5 stars.
